During this presentation, Sebastian Denison, RPh will discuss compounding options for pain management. After this presentation the viewer should be able to:

Describe the physiological pathway of pain — including transduction, transmission, and modulation — and explain the role of inflammation as the biochemical origin of all pain types.
Identify the major pain receptor targets.
Understand the compounding options for each pain type.
Describe the mechanisms of action and topical compounding concentrations of anti-inflammatory agents including NSAIDs (diclofenac, ketoprofen, ibuprofen, ketorolac) and explain their clinical advantages over oral administration.
