During this presentation, Dr. Pamela W. Smith will discuss the effect a hormone imbalance has on skin aging and gastrointestinal health. She will discuss the profound influence that estrogen loss has on the skin in a woman and testosterone loss plays in male skin aging. She will examine the use of topical estrogen and its positive effects on skin aging such as increasing collagen content, dermal thickness, and elasticity. Dr. Smith will then explain the relationship between GI health and skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis, and recognize the symptoms of poor digestion and signs of optimal digestion. Finally, she will discuss dysbiosis, including definition, causes, symptoms, signs, and extra-intestinal symptoms.
