During this presentation, Gus Bassani, PharmD, Daniel Banov, MS, RPh, and Gopesh Patel, RPh will discuss two new PCCA innovations — the FlexDose® Printer, a partnership with DiHeSys Digital Health Systems bringing 3D-printed dissolving film technology to compounding, and UniFlow™, a first-of-its-kind excipient designed to improve flow, stability, and efficiency in T3/T4 thyroid hormone compounding. After this presentation the viewer should be able to:
Describe PCCA's partnership with DiHeSys Digital Health Systems and explain how advanced 3D printing technology enables the production of dissolving film dosage forms for the compounding industry.
Identify the key features of the FlexDose® Printer, including precision active ingredient application, quality control, and the creation of patient-specific dissolving films.
Identify the primary compounding challenges associated with T3/T4 preparation, including content uniformity issues, moisture-driven instability, increased preparation time, and the cost of retesting.
Describe the three core mechanisms of UniFlow — moisture protection, chemical stability, and improved flow and uniformity — and explain how its co-blend technology system addresses these challenges.
